About Becky Richards, interior designer

Over the years, I’ve worked on a wide range of homes, from period country houses and Victorian spaces to coastal cottages and mid-century modern renovations. One of our own projects, transforming a 1950s bungalow, was featured on Channel 4’s Inside Out Homes with London architect Zac Monro, and one of my earliest interior design projects was featured in The Scotsman.

In 2022, I completed my diploma with the Interior Design Institute, strengthening the theory behind the intuitive approach that has guided me for many years.

Before starting Mojo Interior Design, I spent my career in creative advertising agencies, shaping ideas, interpreting feedback and delivering projects with clarity and confidence. That experience now underpins how I work: asking the right questions, listening carefully and turning loose ideas into something considered, cohesive and genuinely good to live in.

Mojo Interior Design came from a personal shift, a decision to focus on work that genuinely brings me joy and positivity. That feeling sits at the centre of every project I take on.

I don’t follow a fixed style. Instead, I respond to the house, how it needs to work and the people who live there, creating homes that feel layered, personal and connected.

After swapping city life for the countryside, I’m now nearing the end of renovating our own farmhouse. Starting from scratch has been a very real reminder of just how many decisions go into creating a home. I know how quickly the choices can become overwhelming, and how much easier everything feels when you have a clear vision to work towards. That’s exactly what I bring to my clients; cutting through the noise, making the decisions easier and helping you get to a home you love, faster.

For me, the best interiors aren’t just about how they look, it’s how they make you feel when you walk through the door.

I’d love to hear about your project.

Working with me

My approach is a clear, considered process designed to bring your home together by creating spaces that feel cohesive, balanced and easy to live in. And make all the decision making enjoyable.

01

Getting to know you

This is where it all starts. Through a simple reflection and in-person discovery questionnaire, I get to the heart of how you live, what you’re drawn to, and what’s not working. You don’t need to have it all figured out. I’ll help shape your ideas into something clear and achievable.

02

Shaping your space

With a clear direction in place, I rework your space to create flow, balance and ease. This is where the style direction comes to life in your space.

03

The Mojo Touch

This is what makes your home feel different.

A confident, unexpected design decision. A detail you wouldn’t have chosen on your own. Something that brings the whole space to life. Not everywhere, just enough to give your home personality and quiet confidence.

04

The result

A home that feels considered, personal, and genuinely good to be in.

Don't just take my word for it

What clients say

Transformational. A challenging space turned into something stylish, practical and full of personality.

Becky’s solution to my living room was transformational - turning a blank room into a stylish and elegant place to relax. Previously, our living room was a bleak, awkwardly proportioned space with a steeply pitched ceiling, crowded with guitars, gaming stations, and random ornaments. We knew what we wanted. We just had no idea how to get there, or even where to begin. Becky took the time to really understand how we use the room, explored different style directions with us, and came up with a bold solution: capping the ceiling where it became too high, and designing a carefully planned lighting scheme that completely changed the feel of the space. She curated a detailed product guide that became our go-to shopping guide that kept us focused as we completed the renovation and accumulated the elements needed to furnish the space. The result is a beautiful, warm-feeling multi-functional room in a mid-century modern style. As a busy professional, I genuinely don't have the time, mental bandwidth or visual creativity to design something that you see in a showroom or design catelogue - nor identify and search for the right products to furnish a room. Becky did that for us. She took our vision, brought it to life in her design, and handed us the roadmap to achieve it. She's now designing two more rooms for a new extension we've built. That tells you everything...

This is a gorgeous AirBnB. From the restful paint colours to the beautiful crockery this place is a pleasure to stay in.

The kitchen was fantastic with windows in the side letting in a surprise mountain view. The top bedroom is a real showstopper as well with views and fabulous decor. The only problem is who gets the best room? Thankfully the other bedrooms are cosy, comfortable and beautifully furnished as well.

Thoughtfully reworked to balance character with modern living. The result is a home that feels both elegant and entirely liveable.

The renovation of this Grade 2 listed house is stunning. Becky thoughtfully reworked the overall layout to provide a characterful 5 bedroom family house. The timeless elegance of the new décor compliments the wooden beams, the use of subtle colour and lighting really brightened up the rooms. The addition of the dramatic green sofa was a brave move, but is a showstopper and totally transformed the lounge.
