Set amongst stunning rose gardens, this Grade II listed period home had evolved over time, resulting in a layout that felt fragmented with two staircases, connecting corridors and large, underused landings. Heavy beams and small windows limited the natural light, leaving much of the house feeling darker than it needed to be.
The redesign focused on working with the character of the building, while making it far more functional for modern living. Underused landing spaces were carefully reimagined to create two new ensuites, while the kitchen was opened towards the staircase to form a more generous, sociable family space.
Throughout, existing elements were thoughtfully retained and refreshed including the original kitchen cabinetry, which was given a new lease of life.
All of this was achieved within a tight budget and in line with listed building requirements, resulting in a period home that feels both respectful of its history and much easier to live in.

The renovation of this Grade 2 listed house is stunning. Becky thoughtfully reworked the overall layout to provide a characterful 5 bedroom family house. The timeless elegance of the new décor compliments the wooden beams. The addition of the dramatic green sofa was a brave move, but is a showstopper and totally transformed the lounge by injecting this joyful colour.
